Job Summary
Manage one or more experienced software engineering teams by mentoring members through 1:1s, evaluating performance, and cultivating elite squads with superior technical standards. Partner with Product Management, Operations, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions while leading engineering standards, best practices, and delivery metrics like DORA. Own technical debt prioritization, cloud infrastructure cost management, and overall quality, while expanding teams through recruiting and external partnerships. Drive execution across multiple concurrent initiatives and ensure sustainable delivery of business-critical applications using modern stacks including Python, Node, Vue, and Kubernetes.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the software development field
- 5+ years leading engineering teams of 10+ people from both a functional and people management perspective
- Demonstrated success leading teams responsible for business-critical applications, cloud-based architectures, and scalable services
- Experience partnering effectively with Product Management, cross-functional stakeholders, and complex enterprise organization structures to unblock teams
- Proven track record in managing execution, priorities, and delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Hands-on familiarity with modern tech stacks: Domain-Driven Design, Python, Node, Vue, JavaScript, Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, and/or Postgres
- Ability to track and proactively manage cloud operational expenses (OpEx) for running services
