Job Summary
Manage one or more experienced software engineering teams by mentoring members through 1:1s, evaluating performance, and driving execution across Engineering, Product, and Operations. Cultivate elite squads by promoting continuous growth, superior technical standards, and strong talent retention while partnering with stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Lead engineering standards, best practices, and delivery metrics using DORA and DevEx, while owning technical debt prioritization, cloud infrastructure cost management, and overall quality. Expand teams by recruiting elite talent and engaging with partners, conferences, and open-source communities. Own cloud operational expenses for running services and ensure predictable, sustainable delivery of business-critical applications.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the software development field
- 5+ years leading engineering teams of 10+ people from both a functional and people management perspective
- Demonstrated success leading teams responsible for business-critical applications, cloud-based architectures, and scalable services
- Experience partnering effectively with Product Management, cross-functional stakeholders, and complex enterprise organization structures to unblock teams
- Proven track record in managing execution, priorities, and delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Hands-on familiarity with modern tech stacks: Domain-Driven Design, Python, Node, Vue, JavaScript, Kubernetes, Kafka, MySQL, and/or Postgres
- Ability to track and proactively manage cloud operational expenses (OpEx) for running services
