Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and deploying scalable integration-focused software solutions. Key duties include building and integrating microservices, implementing RESTful APIs and event-driven patterns, leveraging AWS serverless and other cloud platforms, and collaborating across teams in an Agile Scrum environment. Responsibilities also cover testing (unit, integration, UAT), code quality, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and continuous improvement. The role emphasizes SaaS integrations (Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, Workday, Coupa), API/documentation work, CI/CD practices, observability, security/compliance, and mentoring peers on a 1-3 person feature team. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) and is based in Mexico City or Estado de Mexico with a hybrid work arrangement. Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in backend or integration engineering
- Designing and developing scalable microservices and distributed systems
- Experience with Java (required); Node.js or Python a plus
- RESTful APIs, middleware, and event-driven architectures
- Experience with AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, SAM, Serverless Framework) or Azure/GCP
- SaaS integration with applications like Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, Workday, Coupa
- Unit, integration, and user acceptance testing; code reviews; coding standards
- DevOps collaboration for deployment, monitoring, and scaling
- Agile Scrum (Jira, Confluence)
- Documentation of APIs, database schemas, and backend processes
- BA/BS in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience
- Leadership experience with 1-3 person feature teams
- Low-code/no-code and iPaaS familiarity (Workato, Boomi, Mulesoft)
- CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Travis CI)
- Observability and monitoring (Datadog, CloudWatch)
- Security, governance, data privacy awareness
- ETL/ELT with cloud databases (DynamoDB, Snowflake, BigQuery, SQL)
- Data orchestration tools (Airflow, dbt, Fivetran)
- AI/ML exposure for automation
- MCP Model Context Protocol awareness
- Fluency in English
