Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •8-10 years of software development experience as a hands-on experience as a full stack developer with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality software including front end development, backend/API development, data/database modeling and design, test driven development, automated testing
• •Strong Javascript development experience with common frameworks like React and Node
• •Strong Python development experience
• •Experience using AI development techniques (Claude, Gemini, etc) with success to drive solutions quicker
• •End-to-end AI feature architecture – designing the full stack from UI/UX (streaming responses, loading states, chat interfaces) through backend orchestration layers that manage prompts, tool calls, and multi-turn conversation state
• •Advanced prompt & context engineering – not just writing prompts, but architecting reusable system prompts, dynamic context injection, and structured output formats (JSON/XML) that other engineers on the team can build on top of
• •Tool use / function calling & agentic workflows – designing and wiring up tools (APIs, databases, internal services) that the model can call, including error handling, retries, and multi-step agent loops
• •RAG pipeline ownership – building and maintaining the retrieval layer (embeddings, vector DB, chunking strategy) and tuning it for latency and relevance at production scale, not just prototype scale
• •Production reliability & cost optimization – handling rate limiting, fallback logic, caching strategies, prompt/token cost tradeoffs, and monitoring/evals to catch quality regressions before they hit users
• •Knowledge in building serverless application components in either Azure or AWS
• •Demonstrated ability and desire to learn new programming languages and frameworks required
• •Demonstrated knowledge of Insurance and/or the desire and ability to learn and understand new business processes
• •Experience in multiple infrastructure and application domains – cloud, network, storage, servers, containers/Kubernetes, databases, middleware, DevOps
• •Broad knowledge of software development techniques, processes, methods, and best practices
• •Experience with DevSecOps, and Continuous Integration/Delivery (CI/CD) solutions and tools – GIT, Github Actions, Jenkins, code analysis, quality gates, etc
• •Strong strategic decision making & long-term planning abilities to manage resources and develop efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
• •Strong understanding of Agile development methods and its application to company technology needs
• •Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
• •Ability to consult with business stakeholders and provide thoughtful, practical recommendations to meet their needs
• •Ability to learn business processes and workflow to design business solutions tailored to their needs
• •Ability to decompose excel workbooks comprising of actuarial and financial algorithms to design, develop and delivery cloud-based business applications
• •Expert collaboration skills, both within and outside of the direct team
• •Strong management and leadership skills
• •Strong work ethic with an eye towards continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency
