Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer at Twilio responsible for delivering the best-in-class Twilio SDK experience. Design, build, and maintain large-scale backend services with a focus on reliability, availability, scalability, and performance; lead technical design efforts; collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams; champion high-quality engineering practices including automated testing and thorough documentation; own and improve developer experience for SDK customers; support customers and contribute to operational excellence through incident response and system improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience building and operating cloud-scale backend systems
- Strong programming skills in backend languages such as Java or Scala
- Experience authoring technical specifications and delivering end-to-end system designs
- Strong fundamentals in concurrency and distributed systems
- Experience working with AWS or other cloud platforms at scale
- Proven ability to maintain a high operational excellence bar and mentor junior engineers on reliability and maintainability
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative, fast-moving teams
