Job Summary
Senior DevOps Engineer responsible for developing deployment framework and managing deployment automation strategies. This is a hands-on leadership role and the individual is expected to contribute towards coding, code/design reviews, and facilitating technical discussions to determine technical direction while collaborating with engineering teams, technical leaders, and stakeholders. Lead the technical strategy and execution for automation initiatives, migrate on-prem workloads to AWS, and support team members with solutioning. Build a robust automation framework using established open source or commercial tools. Provide guidance on infrastructure movement techniques including bulk transfers to the cloud. Act as a liaison between technical teams and internal stakeholders; develop detailed work plans for activities; create metrics to measure effectiveness and reduce regression costs; advocate automation infrastructure adoption with development teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum 5-8 years of development experience
- Experience scripting with Java, Shell or Ruby; Perl a plus
- Experience writing automation scripts
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Harness, TeamCity
- Experience with distributed systems and Linux shell scripting
- Experience deploying and scaling containers with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, OCI, Azure) for deployment pipelines
- Knowledge of configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt, Puppet)
- Experience with deployment tools (Harness, CloudBees CD, UrbanCode)
- Experience in fast, scalable deployment across multiple environments
- Knowledge of Maven2 and binary stores (JFrog Artifactory, Nexus)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
