Job Summary
Senior Backend Engineer role focused on driving the evolution of backend technology, infrastructure, and AI capabilities to ensure high performance and scalability for mobile applications. Key responsibilities include partnering with the CTO to build foundational backend and AI systems, developing and enhancing backend systems for existing and new applications, contributing to system design, infrastructure planning, CI/CD processes, and data workflows, and implementing scalable backend tools, databases, and architecture. Technologies include Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, cloud services (AWS, Supabase, Cloudflare), and collaboration with mobile engineers. Strong emphasis on designing scalable architectures, monitoring with tools like New Relic or Datadog, and aligning technical work with business impact. English communication and autonomous, proactive collaboration in a small, ambitious team are required.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years designing and building high-performance systems
- Strong backend development experience with Kotlin, Java, Go, Python, or similar
- Solid understanding of database design, management, and optimization
- Proven experience building and maintaining scalable and reliable backend systems
- Experience with AI is a strong plus, particularly applying models to real product use cases and optimizing them in production environments
- Experience designing scalable and maintainable backend architectures and selecting appropriate architectural patterns
- Ability to monitor systems and architecture using tools such as New Relic or Datadog
- Fluent English communication and collaboration in a small, ambitious team
