Job Summary
Design, implement, and maintain reliable automated end-to-end and integration tests for complex imaging software using Cypress. Collaborate with software development and quality assurance teams to develop reusable test frameworks and automate workflows spanning multiple products. Monitor automated test pipelines and software builds daily, investigating complex failures and communicating build quality and release readiness. Translate product risks and acceptance criteria into automated test designs to prioritize automation delivering the greatest quality and business impact. Work independently with product owners and engineering leads to lead focused automation initiatives and serve as a technical resource for colleagues. This role supports the Imaging Software Engineering team at Molecular Devices, driving scientific discovery for life science customers through automated and AI-enabled technology.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of professional software development or software test automation experience
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining automated end-to-end or integration tests for commercial software
- Practical expertise with Cypress or a comparable browser automation framework
- Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Experience monitoring pipeline and build health
- Experience diagnosing failures
- Experience communicating actionable quality and release-readiness information
- Proficiency with Git
- Proficiency with package-management and build tools such as npm
- Proficiency with REST-based applications
- Proficiency with test design patterns
- Proficiency with defect tracking
- Proficiency with Agile development practices
- Ability to solve complex technical problems with minimal guidance
- Ability to perform effective root-cause analysis
- Ability to lead small initiatives
- Ability to explain difficult technical information clearly
- Ability to build consensus across cross-functional teams
- 100% on-site work at the Downingtown, PA location
