Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer (Tech lead) role at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Austin, TX. Lead design/implementation of AI platform solutions, build AI-enabled web apps and microservices (Python/Java, React/TypeScript), mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams across global regions, embed intelligent capabilities into non-AI teams, maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps activities, ensure security and observability, and participate in Agile ceremonies. Can work hybrid (in-office/remote). Travel up to 10%.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study
- 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer, or related occupation OR Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation
- Proficiency in Python, Java, TypeScript, Linux Shell
- Experience with AI Platform Architecture, LLMs, GPT, Claude, Gemini, DALL·E, Agents, Function Calling, MCP, RAG, Embedding Services, LangChain, AutoGen, SpringAI, OpenAI tools
- Knowledge of Angular, React, Node.js, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
- SpringBoot, Spring, JDBC, MicroServices, Maven, Tomcat
- Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Ingress, Nginx
- AWS (EKS, S3, SNS, SQS, RDS, Route53, Secret Manager, Cost Center), Azure (AI Hub, AI studio, Authentication, Cognitive AI Search)
