Job Summary
Own and enhance the production LabVIEW instrument application through feature work, debugging, and performance improvements while leading the architecture of its next-generation Python-based replacement. Write design documentation, build verification strategies, and develop Python tools for data analysis and integration. Collaborate directly with internal scientists to resolve issues and shape platform improvements, utilizing AI-assisted coding tools as a core part of your daily workflow. This role involves hands-on testing against physical lab hardware within a ~90-person life sciences instrumentation team.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related science field
- Hands-on, production experience with LabVIEW
- Strong Python skills
- Comfort with object-oriented design
- Comfort with large, distributed architectures
- Understanding of the full software development lifecycle
- Comfort working directly with physical lab instrumentation
- A pragmatic, collaborative communication style
