Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer to own feature delivery end-to-end across Stellic’s product teams, shipping new capabilities that impact students and advisors; maintain code quality with emphasis on testing, security, accessibility, and healthy CI/CD; collaborate with Product and Design to solve the right problems and focus on customer outcomes; mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering initiatives that improve scalability and operational efficiency; work across Platform, Plan, Progress, Integration, Explore, and Care teams to build software for higher education; tech stack includes Python, SQL, Django, Angular, React, Remix, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Redis, Git/GitHub, AWS, CodeDeploy, Sentry, Grafana, Prometheus, PostHog, Metabase; emphasize ownership and fast-moving collaboration in a hybrid-in-San-Mateo (CA) setting with remote flexibility considered case-by-case.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong fundamentals across front-end and/or back-end development
- Experience shipping production software in a collaborative, fast-moving environment
- Testing and CI/CD experience
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Product, Design, and fellow engineers
- A track record of ownership—you've taken projects from idea to outcome and felt accountable for the result
