Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer - ServiceNow responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ServiceNow solutions, including workflows, catalog items, and integrations. Leads and mentors junior developers, participates in code reviews and design discussions, and ensures solutions align with SDLC practices. Owns delivery of features, enforces scripting and configuration standards, and collaborates with Product Owners, Architects, and Business Analysts to translate requirements into scalable, reusable, catalog-driven solutions. Focus areas include multi-step workflows with routing, approvals, SLAs, and task dependencies; Workflow Designer; task orchestration; and ongoing improvements to efficiency and user experience. Coordinates with external systems (e.g., Jira) integrations and ensures quality through testing and troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and a minimum of 5 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience OR Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years’ systems analysis and/or application development work experience
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development including server-side and client-side scripting
- Experience developing ServiceNow solutions including Service Catalog items, record producers, and Flow Designer workflows
- Experience implementing workflow-based solutions including approvals, task routing, SLAs, and lifecycle management
- Working knowledge of ServiceNow data model, tables, forms, and relationships
- Experience with source control, versioning, and CI/CD or promotion processes aligned to SDLC practices
- Ability to translate technical and business requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills within ServiceNow or similar platforms
- Experience integrating ServiceNow with external systems (e.g., Jira, APIs)
- Experience designing or contributing to scalable workflow-based solutions and process automation
- ServiceNow certifications (CAD and Certified Implementation Specialist – Service Catalog) preferred
