Job Summary
Statsig is seeking a Security Engineer to implement and maintain software architecture to lessen security risks. You will improve security operations through clean, high-performance code and collaborate across functions to align projects with business objectives and compliance standards. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience, familiarity with security principles, and experience in cloud environments like GCP or AWS.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Security Engineering or Security-adjacent field.
- Understanding of common security practices, with the ability to identify and address security gaps or inefficiencies to protect company assets.
- Experience working within cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to organize, prioritize, and work autonomously.
Desired Qualifications
- Familiar with security principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.
- Strong knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python, Ruby, Go, Rust, JavaScript) and comfortable reading and critically reviewing code in languages you may not have deep proficiency in.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
