Senior Software Engineer, Search and Recommendations

Senior Software Engineer for large-scale data-facing services in Roku's browse/discovery platform. Build extremely large-scale platform products and services used by Roku engineers and consumers across millions of devices; collaborate with Product/Design to iterate from ideation to production deployment; lead evaluation of new technologies and drive best practices across the development life cycle; manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables; participate in Agile development with scoping, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Technologies of interest include Java (preferred), Python, AWS cloud services, data stores trade-offs, in-memory caching (Redis, Memcached), monitoring and troubleshooting production systems, and understanding end-to-end web architecture from device to data center. Requires a Master’s degree in CS/CE or equivalent experience. Hybrid work setup with in-office Monday-Thursday in the UK and flexible remote Fridays.
