Senior Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Job Summary
Design, build, review, test, and maintain Ruby on Rails features and services while owning technical delivery for projects, epics, and major user stories. Develop RESTful APIs and web applications with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance, contributing to architectural decisions and component separation. Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, and Security teams to ensure smooth production delivery, championing code quality through reviews, automated testing, and documentation. Mentor peers, share knowledge, and apply AI tools responsibly to improve engineering practices. Work in a hybrid model with onsite requirements of at least 50% of the time, supporting Diligent's global GRC SaaS platform that empowers over a million users to manage risk and governance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a commercial software environment
- strong hands-on experience building web applications and services
- Excellent understanding of Ruby on Rails
- practical experience delivering production-grade backend or full-stack applications with Ruby on Rails
- Strong experience with API and web development
- RESTful service design and implementation
- Experience designing secure software
