Job Summary
Own high-impact projects end-to-end, including accounting integrations with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Xero, and Puzzle that keep customers' books accurate and up to date. Build reliable, scalable backend services in Python, Go, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP that power core financial workflows and expand into new adjacent product areas. Turn ambiguous product problems into simple, durable technical solutions while partnering with Product, Design, Operations, Compliance, and external partners like Plaid and Finicity. Make thoughtful tradeoffs focused on shipping quickly without compromising the reliability of money movement, raising the engineering bar through clear communication, strong system design, and mentorship. This high-ownership role supports Rho's mission to build a modern banking platform for startups, offering hybrid work, generous PTO, and a learning budget.
Required Qualifications
- Senior-level experience building production backend systems, APIs, services, or distributed systems
- Strong product judgment, customer curiosity, and comfort working through ambiguity
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work cross-functionally with non-technical teams
- Experience operating in fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities evolve quickly
- A bias toward shipping, learning from users, and continuously improving what you build
- Strong engineering fundamentals
- The ability to learn quickly
