Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer responsible for end-to-end development of fintech features across the full stack, owning features from design through deployment and monitoring. You will manage production systems, optimize infrastructure for reliability, scalability, and resilience, and collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to deliver impact. The role emphasizes mentoring junior engineers, driving code quality and performance improvements, and proactively leading initiatives to improve processes and technical direction. Core tech includes TypeScript, React, Node.js, and AWS (ECS, DynamoDB, RDS, Lambda, S3); familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools is a plus. The position is located in Waterloo, ON or Kitchener-Waterloo, ON with remote work options; the company focuses on fintech for small businesses and startups with a fast-growing team and a collaborative culture.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of full-stack software engineering experience
- Led development of significant components or features
- Mentor junior engineers
- Drive enhancements and lead initiatives to improve code quality and performance
- Comfortable with fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Collaborative team player
- Ownership of end-to-end solutions
- Experience with JavaScript (TypeScript), React, and Node.js is a bonus
- AWS services knowledge and CI/CD pipelines is a bonus
