Job Summary
Design, develop, and enhance innovative software products and platforms using Python, leading technical projects from concept through deployment. Contribute to the architecture of complex systems, analyze challenging technical problems, and support the evaluation of new technologies. Mentor junior engineers, promote best practices, and help shape future product direction through technical expertise. Collaborate across disciplines to improve software performance, reliability, and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- Strong commercial software engineering experience using Python
- Experience designing, developing and maintaining production-quality software systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead technical projects and contribute to architectural decisions
- Experience mentoring and supporting other engineers
- Comfortable working independently whilst collaborating within highly technical teams
- Experience working with Docker and containerisation technologies
- Degree educated in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a closely related STEM discipline
- Strong academic background, typically including a 2:1 or 1st class degree and BBB or above at A-Level (or international equivalent)
Desired Qualifications
- Personal Python projects outside of academic work
- Knowledge of cloud computing environments
- Experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Rust and C++
