(Senior) Software Engineer (Python/Shell script) (m/f/d)

Job Summary
Develop and optimize Python and Linux shell scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading. Build automated pipelines and reusable code modules to support recurring reporting and analytics workloads while ensuring dataset accuracy and consistency. Conduct peer code reviews, debug complex data flows, and perform root-cause analysis to maintain reliability. Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to clarify requirements and identify process simplifications using automation. Requires 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Python, Shell scripting, and ETL development. Located in EMEA Hybrid/Remot.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience working with Python and Shell scripting
- Strong proficiency with Python and/or Linux scripting (including awk script)
- Experience with ETL development, data validation, and data integration
- Good understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Ability to debug complex data pipelines and optimize performance
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Strong Linux/Unix background
- Strong Windows/Microsoft Office knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related field
- Good/very good knowledge of English
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with SAS/WPS
- Experience with Perl
- Experience with Apache Airflow
- Exposure to version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, or job scheduling platforms
- Experience in CPG, retail analytics, or large-scale market measurement environments
