Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer role in Pune, India focused on designing, building, and scaling Python-based backend services and APIs using FastAPI within cloud environments.Responsibilities include developing scalable microservices and BFF-backed systems, implementing secure RESTful APIs, enabling enterprise integrations and AI-driven workflows, deploying on GCP with CI/CD and containerization, ensuring production readiness through testing and documentation, and mentoring peers. Required expertise spans Python backend development, REST/microservices design, authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SSO), relational databases (PostgreSQL), cloud deployment (GCP/AWS/Azure), containerization (Docker), and collaborative, quality-focused software delivery. Preferred experience with LangGraph, MCPs, LLM tooling, event-driven architectures, IaC, NoSQL/datastores, GraphQL, Agile/distributed teams, and AI developer tools.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering with strong backend development focus
- Strong hands-on expertise in Python and building production-grade backend services and APIs
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices, preferably using FastAPI or similar frameworks
- Solid understanding of Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) and service-oriented design
- Experience with authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth2, JWT, and SSO
- Strong knowledge of relational database design and SQL (PostgreSQL or equivalent)
- Experience building and deploying applications in a cloud environment (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
- Familiarity with containerization and CI/CD practices (Docker, pipelines, automated deployments)
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills, with an ownership mindset
