Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer, Product role focused on frontend-led, end-to-end features for Vis/Media workflows. Design and build new analysis workflows and visualizations to help researchers analyze, compare, and communicate experiment results. Collaborate with product, design, and customer-facing teams to validate ideas, iterate rapidly, and deploy production features spanning UX, APIs, and data models. Work across the stack to improve reliability, performance, and scalability when handling large, high-volume datasets; contribute clean, reusable code and participate in code reviews. Proficiency with React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and at least one backend or systems language (Go, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript) is expected; knowledge of data storage, querying, and rendering decisions for analytics use cases is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience building user-facing software, with a strong focus on frontend development
- Experience working across the stack, including backend services, APIs, and data models
- Experience in ambiguous problem spaces where requirements, schemas, and abstractions evolve
- Strong product instincts and ability to reason from user goals to technical design decisions
- Familiarity with modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, and GraphQL
- Solid understanding of programming fundamentals and experience with at least one backend or systems language (e.g. Go, Python, Java, C++, JavaScript)
- Bias toward action, iteration, and learning through building, with the judgment to avoid over-engineering too early
- Preferred qualifications include experience designing APIs for exploratory/analytical workflows, familiarity with large-scale data systems and time-series data, exposure to 3D point cloud visualization frameworks like BabylonJS and Potree
