Job Summary

Devise strategies to extract meaning and value from structured and unstructured data using statistical methods and machine learning. Leverage query and visualization tools like DataXplorer to present question-focused datasets. Analyze and develop requirements for data characterization and ingestion while collaborating with customer teams to understand mission needs. Recommend new technologies, select software development processes, and ensure quality control of developed software. Delegate programming and testing responsibilities to teams and monitor their performance. Develop simple data queries for existing databases and repositories. This role involves working within a team supporting a suite of web-based applications that automate data management for IC data custodians. The TTO is performed out of the Peraton facility offering flexible hours.

Required Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph level clearance
  • Seventeen (17) years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Four (4) additional years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes (substitutable for bachelor's degree)
  • Minimum of 6 recent years of development experience
  • Knowledgeable with data enrichment/conversion methods
  • Familiar with data ontologies/schemas
  • Strong knowledge of structured data types (XML, CSV, JSON)
  • Database experience

Desired Qualifications

  • JAVA
  • analytic development experience
  • working knowledge of NIFI
  • Analytic development experience using scripting languages such as Python and Scala to use statistical libraries against data
  • Skilled with big data processing frameworks such as Pig, MapReduce and Spark to scale algorithms over large volumes of data
  • Experience employing combination (2 or more) of analysis, computer science, mathematics, and software engineering skills to devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets
  • Experience with predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining
  • Skilled with data flows, Pig scripting, Hadoop MapReduce, and various analytic tools
  • Skilled working with development and SE teams, other stakeholders agencies, and leadership
  • Knowledge of data indexing and analytic development
  • Experience working with cloud service providers and data stewards
  • Demonstrated experience in network metadata processing, manipulation, and analysis in support of intelligence analysis
