Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer, Operation Platforms to architect and build the platforms that run Bot Auto's autonomous trucking operations, including real-time operator tooling, backend services, and event-driven integrations for fleet scheduling, dispatch, vehicle console, and mission control. Expect design of core object models and state machines for Loads, Legs, Missions, and Trips; development of durable APIs and services; and collaboration with autonomy, operations, product, and physical-layer teams to enable reliable, auditable, and agent-assisted automation across digital and physical domains.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building backend services and/or full-stack applications in production
- Strong software development skills in one or more languages: Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience designing distributed systems, data models, state machines, or workflow/lifecycle-driven applications
- Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and event-driven architectures
- Preferred experience with operations-critical, mission-control, logistics, fleet management, TMS, dispatch/scheduling, or marketplace systems
- Experience building real-time systems and operator-facing tools (live dashboards, command-and-control)
- Familiarity with event-driven and streaming platforms (NATS, Kafka, MQTT, etc.) and modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS), containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes
- Exposure to LLM/agentic automation and human-in-the-loop systems
- Interest in autonomous systems, robotics, or cyber-physical systems
- Strong product sense and the ability to collaborate closely with operations teams
