Senior Software Engineer (NodeJS) - A26239
On-siteSingapore, Singapore
Job Summary
Design and implement orchestration workflows and decision services on Opus to automate government grant eligibility and computation, replacing manual spreadsheet processes. Build robust system-to-system integrations that ingest applications from intake services, invoke decision logic, and write outcomes to downstream systems of record with proper error handling and observability. Establish production-grade infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines using Docker, Terraform, and GitLab to automate builds, tests, and deployments across development, staging, and production environments. Shape engineering practices for an early-stage platform team while designing scalable architectures for a modern full-stack codebase.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related fields, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong, hands-on infrastructure and cloud experience — provisioning and operating environments for application workloads on a modern cloud or container platform (e.g. Kubernetes, AWS, GCP or similar), covering compute, networking, secrets and access control
- Good working knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD and containerisation, with practical experience using Docker and Cl tooling such as GitLab
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform, Terragrunt, Opentofu or similar)
- Comfort building integrations and orchestrating data between systems via APIs, including designing for reliability, security and traceability
- Working familiarity with modern web / application stacks (e.g. React, Node JS) — enough to integrate with and contribute to the application layer
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a genuine curiosity for learning new technologies (e.g. low-code platforms such as Opus)
- Experience deploying and using Singapore Government commercial cloud / SGTS infrastructure, or working within the GovTech ecosystem (e.g. SHIP-HATS, Opus, GatherSG, ApplySG)
- Experience architecting and developing solutions to complex and ambiguous problems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
- Comfort operating in a lean, early-stage team and helping shape engineering practices as the team grows
Desired Qualifications
- Responsible use of emerging technologies such as Al to enhance the service
