Job Summary
Design and deliver secure, scalable software for financial projection workflows used by analysts and business stakeholders. Build and maintain full-stack capabilities across web applications, backend services, data services, and deployment configurations using Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, REST APIs, and Angular. Own technical delivery from design through production release, including implementation, testing, code review, documentation, and post-release support. Improve reliability, performance, and maintainability by analyzing production behavior, resolving defects, and addressing technical debt. Collaborate independently with product owners, analysts, quality engineers, and architects while mentoring team members. This role supports Moody's Analytical Tools team, driving platform modernization and AI-driven applications for ratings processes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience designing and building enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, and reactive programming patterns
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, SQL, PostgreSQL, schema design, data modeling, migrations, and data-access patterns for business-critical applications
- Experience integrating distributed systems using service APIs, event-driven patterns, caching, secure service-to-service communication, and contract-driven development
- Working knowledge of cloud-native engineering practices, including containers, Kubernetes, Helm, GitOps, continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, API gateways, and environment configuration
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, performance analysis, and root-cause investigation across user interface, API, data, and deployment layers
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience with modern front-end development using Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, reusable component design, forms, data grids, and spreadsheet-style user experiences
- Desired experience with scripting or automation languages such as Python, including use cases such as developer tooling, data validation, operational support, test automation, or workflow efficiency
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
