Job Summary
Design, develop, and verify software for medical device products in compliance with IEC 62304 standards. Lead software development activities including effort estimation, planning, and technical execution while conducting reviews of requirements, architecture, and source code. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality and team efficiency. Mentor engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing, utilizing AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation while maintaining rigorous safety bars for all code contributions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years of relevant software engineering experience
- an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience
- Experience developing software using established software development lifecycle processes
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Proficiency in at least two of the following technologies: XML, C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Python, or HTML
- Experience participating in software design, code review, and software verification activities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing software for medical devices
- Knowledge of software development standards and regulatory expectations applicable to medical device software
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or guidance to software engineering teams
- Experience working within cross-functional product development environments
