Job Summary
Design, develop, and verify software for medical device products in compliance with IEC 62304 standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions, lead effort estimation and planning, and conduct reviews of requirements, architecture, and source code. Mentor engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing while utilizing AI-assisted tools to accelerate implementation and debugging. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance software quality and team effectiveness across project phases.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (Level 8) in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 4 years of relevant software engineering experience
- an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant software engineering experience
- Experience developing software using established software development lifecycle processes
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Proficiency in at least two of the following technologies: XML, C++, Java, JavaScript, C#, .NET, Python, or HTML
- Experience participating in software design, code review, and software verification activities
Desired Qualifications
- Experience developing software for medical devices
- Knowledge of software development standards and regulatory expectations applicable to medical device software
- Experience providing technical leadership, mentoring, or guidance to software engineering teams
- Experience working within cross-functional product development environments
- Experience developing reusable software frameworks, components, or design patterns that improve development efficiency
