Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary
Develop high quality, secure, scalable software solutions based on technical requirements and design artifacts while adhering to MasterCard standards and best practices. Research, create, and evaluate technical solution alternatives for current and future business needs, including performing feasibility studies, logic designs, and detailed systems flowcharting. Work with cross-functional project teams to meet scheduled due dates, identify emerging issues, and recommend solutions. Document software programs per Software Development Best Practices and follow Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes. Contribute ideas to enhance standards and improve process efficiency while supporting the collection and reporting of project and software metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Strong experience working on Scalable, Multi-threaded Java applications
- Experience of developing applications using the Spring Framework
- Experience with RESTful APIs and JSON/SOAP based API with Java
- Ability to debug server-side API calls, and contribute to the design of best-practice RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of Cloud Native Development such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry & AWS
- Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting
- Experience with Java performance testing and benchmarking
- Experience in Database Design, strong knowledge of PL/SQL
- Experience in the software engineering field
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies
- Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative work environment and make independent decisions
- Ability to learn and deploy new technologies as needed
- Experience in building scalable, maintainable applications
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Experience using the Agile Methodology
- Excellent verbal and written communication
