Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer - Localization (GLP Team) in Bangalore responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable backend and frontend services that power Warner Bros. Discovery's localization infrastructure. Lead major technical components, drive feature implementation end-to-end from design to production, mentor junior engineers, ensure high-quality, well-tested code, and improve observability and reliability. The role emphasizes collaboration with product managers and localization experts, strong technical writing, and delivering multilingual content workflows across platforms, using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Serverless, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- 5 - 9 years of professional software engineering experience
- Advanced experience with Node.js (backend) and TypeScript (frontend)
- Localization workflow experience is mandatory
- Experience with AWS cloud services (Serverless, Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, EventBridge)
- Experience with microservice architecture, REST/gRPC, and event-driven patterns
- DevOps practices including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Databases: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB; caching/search (Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Strong observability skills with dashboards/alerts using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Kibana, Grafana
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to code reviews and documentation
- Agile, product-driven environment experience
