Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin/Java) in FlixTech Finance Technology, designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Kotlin with a focus on scalable, event-driven systems that process, validate, and expose financial data. Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and Finance stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring data accuracy, traceability, and auditability across financial and accounting flows. Improve system reliability, observability, and performance, contribute to clean code and architectural discussions, and participate in continuous improvement of engineering practices. Role supports hybrid work with Berlin or Munich offices, within a larger, self-managed, cross-functional team.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in backend development with Java or Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data)
- Experience with event-driven design (asynchronous processing, messaging, domain events)
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
- Solid understanding of NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB) and relational databases
- Ability to work in data-heavy domains (Finance) with emphasis on data accuracy, traceability, and auditability
- Clear English communication; openness to continuous improvement and collaboration with Product Owner and stakeholders
