Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer specializing in JVM-based frameworks to own the full lifecycle of data framework integrations—from core database drivers handling billions of records per second to SDKs and connectors for streaming frameworks (Kafka, Kafka Connect, Apache Flink, Apache Beam). You will contribute to ClickHouse’s data engineering ecosystem, collaborating with open-source communities, internal teams, and enterprise users to ensure high performance, reliability, and strong developer experience. Key focus areas include building production-grade streaming connectors, optimizing data throughput, memory management, and advancing JVM-based integrations. Bonus points for OSS contributions, knowledge of ClickHouse or similar high-performance data platforms, and Python tooling in data contexts.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in Java and the JVM ecosystem
- Experience with streaming or data integration frameworks (Kafka, Kafka Connect, Flink, Beam)
- Experience developing or extending connectors/sinks/sources for streaming frameworks
- Hands-on experience with distributed messaging systems (Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis)
- Strong SQL and data modeling knowledge; OLAP/analytical databases
- Experience in building scalable data integration systems beyond ETL
- Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams
- Understanding of JDBC, TCP/IP, HTTP; data throughput optimization
- Passion for open-source development
