Job Summary
Lead development of large-scale software applications and influence critical architectural decisions to ensure systems are scalable and maintainable. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical decisions, mentor junior engineers, and drive improvements based on data reported by support teams. Advocate for quality assurance practices to deliver robust, high-performance software while balancing technical debt and performance concerns. This role requires 10+ years of Java experience and 5+ years with highly scalable systems, with a base salary of $150,000 to $200,000. You will work remotely or hybrid in selected US states, supporting NinjaOne's mission to unify IT operations for millions of endpoints.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of experience in Java software development, particularly for product applications
- 5+ years of experience with highly scalable systems
- Proven experience in scaling systems and solving complex system design challenges
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) design principles and practices
- Expertise in API design and RESTful services, with experience using frameworks like Jersey or Spring
- Proficient in relational database design and development
- In-depth knowledge of quality testing practices and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software
- Reside in one of the following states - CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA
- Located in the USA
- Willing to self-relocate if outside Chicago city limits
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in our stack: NinjaOne is built on Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang and Postgres
- Knowing large-scale datastore bottlenecks
- Asynchronous application design
- Client-server architecture
- Experience with caching systems, particularly Redis
