Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer - Java, Angular responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-grade applications. Primary focus includes crafting efficient, scalable, secure software; applying OO concepts and design patterns; contributing to Agile teams through scrums, sprint planning, and code reviews; participating in requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, problem resolution, and documentation. Develop automated unit tests and perform manual/automated integration testing; articulate technical issues to peers, architects, and project managers and propose creative solutions. Maintain comprehensive test suites to prevent regressions; possess strong client-facing communication to drive client success; contribute to accurate planning and estimation efforts using project methodologies and tools. Actively participate in the Engineering Practice community, mentoring teammates through Communities of Practice and project teams; independently drive delivery within defined architecture with autonomy and accountability from concept to deployment. Remote-first opportunity in Canada with flexible work arrangements (office/home/blend).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Proficiency in Java and Angular 2+
- Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA
- Experience building REST web services and SQL queries
- Front-end technologies: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience with unit, integration and end-to-end testing
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Knowledge of OO design, patterns, and enterprise software development
