Job Summary
Design and deliver large-scale, real-time systems for the public-facing API platform and ingestion services used by global merchants. Collaborate with product management and data engineering teams to architect end-to-end solutions that protect revenue and enable frictionless onboarding. Proactively identify technical debt and propose scalable solutions while taking operational ownership through monitoring and observability tools. Mentor team members to raise technical standards and review designs to ensure high quality and operability. Lead ambiguous projects from initiation to delivery, influencing technical direction across the Integrations & Onboarding team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Significant experience in software development with modern programming languages, experience programming in a functional style
- Track record of leading the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end to end, and influencing technical direction beyond your own team
- Strong software design and architecture skills, including designing for scalability, performance, and reliability of high-traffic systems
- Experience building distributed systems or public-facing/platform APIs
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineers and non-engineers alike
- You use modern AI development tools fluently to ship faster without sacrificing quality. This means practical experience with AI coding assistants, understanding how to provide effective context, and critically evaluating generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and long-term code quality
