Job Summary
Design and develop complex software systems across multiple product lines, translating customer requirements into technical solutions. Write and review detailed specifications, implement development processes, and complete complex bug fixes while operating in Agile or Waterfall environments. Mentor less-senior developers on methodologies and optimization techniques, and train entry-level engineers on critical role aspects. Resolve complex technical issues and apply AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and debugging workflows. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to finalize requirements and keep abreast of emerging technology developments.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience
- BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
- Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques
- Strong understanding of normalized/dimensional data modeling principles
- Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems
- Expertise in development languages including but not limited to: Java/J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, C/C++, HTML, XML, SQL, Windows, UNIX, and .Net
- Strong research skills
- Strong knowledge in industry best practices in development
- Knowledge in using and developing applicable tool sets
- Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements
- Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources
- Knowledge of test-driven development
- Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of complex system components
- Basic knowledge of AI-assisted and agentic software development tools, such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, or similar tools
- Ability and desire to use AI-assisted development workflows to generate, refine, test, and debug code while applying sound software engineering practices
- Ability to complete complex bug fixes
- Good oral and written communications skills
