Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer II on Apartment List's Marketplace team building and maintaining full-stack features (search, ranking, renter-facing UI) and ML Ops infrastructure (model deployment pipelines, feature stores, monitoring) across production systems; collaborate with data scientists to bring models into production at scale; contribute to code quality through testing and reviews, and help translate complex problems into executable work while optimizing performance, reliability, and scalability.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (Ruby/Javascript, Go, Python)
- Exposure to ML concepts and an interest in working at the boundary of software engineering and machine learning
- Experience with a balanced approach using AI tools – improving workflows, reducing feedback loops
- Experience working in cloud environments (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure also considered)
- Excellent communication skills and debugging instincts with an ownership mindset
- Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and with cross-functional partners
- Mentorship experience for other engineers
