Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer II leading AI-first development and architectural delivery for CareMetx, driving design, development, and deployment of scalable full-stack systems. Role emphasizes AI-assisted code generation, AI tool evaluation/integration, and establishing internal standards for responsible AI integration. Responsible for software architecture across the full stack, guiding features from requirements through deployment and observability, and mentoring engineers. Collaborates with product, UX, and business stakeholders, participates in planning and roadmap discussions, and contributes to engineering standards, incident response, and continuous improvement. Requires experience in healthcare/pharma tech and a strong mix of backend (Python/Java/C#/Node.js) and frontend (React/TypeScript/Angular) skills, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and modern delivery practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience accepted
- 8–12 years of progressive software engineering experience
- Minimum 2+ years in a Senior Engineer I or equivalent senior-level role
- Demonstrated track record of leading complex software projects from inception through production deployment and ongoing support
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare technology industry strongly preferred
- Expert-level proficiency in one or more backend languages (Python, Java, C#, Node.js) and strong frontend competency (React, TypeScript, Angular)
- Deep experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs, microservices architectures, and event-driven systems
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes); IaC (Terraform, Pulumi)
- Relational and NoSQL databases; data modeling and optimization
- CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins); observability and modern delivery practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
