Senior Software Engineer I (Architect Release)

Job Summary

Lead architecture reviews, deployment planning, and production readiness assessments for strategic initiatives while serving as the final technical approval point for production deployments. Evaluate applications to determine optimal deployment models across Azure, hybrid, and on-premises environments, then establish release governance standards and enforce environment management practices. Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions to drive cloud modernization and operational efficiency. Partner with Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, Product, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable technology solutions, providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams. Monitor platform performance to proactively identify opportunities for improving reliability, resiliency, and security, while developing standards and documentation that support long-term platform stability.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, release engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • 3+ years of experience developing Java or C# web and API-based applications within a team environment
  • Experience leading complex technical initiatives, deployment activities, architecture reviews, and enterprise-scale projects
  • Experience evaluating cloud, hybrid, and on-premises deployment strategies
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, release engineering, deployment automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, security, monitoring, and resiliency solutions
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex application and infrastructure issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Azure, AWS, DevOps, or other relevant cloud certifications
  • Experience leading cloud migration, modernization, or digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation
  • Experience with enterprise architecture governance and release management frameworks
  • Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teams
  • Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical applications in complex enterprise environments
