Job Summary
Design and develop scalable, high-performance networking and security components focusing on routing, packet processing, and embedded systems. Implement and enhance routing protocol functionality and network control-plane features while building multi-threaded, high-performance software for embedded platforms. Debug complex system-level issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready features for the SD-WAN platform. Work on complex, real-world problems involving multi-core systems and distributed networking with an average of two days per week from the HPE office.
Required Qualifications
- Hybrid work arrangement (average 2 days per week from an HPE office)
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in embedded or systems software development
- Strong programming skills in C (C++/Python a plus)
- Experience building multi-threaded applications on Linux or similar systems
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, L2/L3 concepts)
- Hands-on experience with packet processing systems or dataplane development
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and system design skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, IS-IS)
- Familiarity with Linux kernel networking and system-level internals
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) and SD-WAN architectures
- Experience with high-performance and scalable systems design
- Exposure to network security technologies (e.g., VPN, IPsec, firewalling)
- Experience in distributed systems or performance tuning in production environments
