Job Summary

Implement complex feature development and technical patterns across core PHP/Laravel and Node.js/Nestjs services on AWS infrastructure, ensuring scalability and clean design. Champion high-quality execution by applying approved AI tools for implementation planning, code reviews, and test generation while maintaining a 0% critical-defect rate and upholding top-tier security standards. Rigorously verify all AI-assisted changes with automated tests and clear acceptance criteria before reaching production. Optimize repository instructions and prompts to improve AI outputs, and mentor mid-level engineers on effective AI orchestration and manual engineering judgment. Partner with Product Owners to translate business requirements into technical tasks, strictly adhering to data compliance policies for PHI and auditability.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong technical command of PHP (Laravel)
  • Strong technical command of Node.js
  • Solid experience implementing scalable RESTful APIs
  • Solid experience with distributed microservices
  • Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid experience with optimized databases
  • Practical, hands-on experience using LLMs and agentic workflows for autonomous code, debugging, and test generation
  • Strong background in automated testing frameworks (e.g., Playwright)
  • Proven ability to write comprehensive test suites that catch defects early
  • A firm 'verify output' mindset, taking full personal responsibility for the security, quality, and maintainability of your production code
  • Clear verbal and written skills to collaborate effectively with technical teammates and product stakeholders
  • Must be located within British Columbia (BC), Alberta (AB), or Ontario (ON)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working within Healthcare IT or Practice Management Software
  • Side projects, open-source contributions, or courses demonstrating active experimentation with LLM frameworks
