Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer for Government Cloud responsible for designing, building, and hardening features in a compliance-regulated cloud environment (AWS GovCloud) to serve federal customers. Responsibilities include implementing authentication, audit/compliance tooling, and environment-aware configurations; enabling seamless operation across commercial and government cloud environments; mentoring other engineers on secure design patterns; supporting self-hosted federal customers in a government-compliant setup; and collaborating with Product/Design to adapt capabilities for government environments. Technologies emphasized include Ruby, TypeScript, Rails, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS CDK, Kubernetes, and OpenSearch. Target salary range is $210,000–$220,000 plus equity; remote work within the United States is supported with a preference for the Greater Boston Area.
Required Qualifications
- Roughly 7+ years as a professional software engineer
- senior-level experience
- direct experience building software in compliance-regulated or security-sensitive environments is a strong plus
- hands-on coding ability in a high-level language (Ruby, TypeScript, etc.)
- ability to work across stack (Ruby, Rails, React, TypeScript, Postgres, Redis, AWS CDK, Kubernetes)
- customer-obsessed mindset and ability to reason about security at the application layer
- willingness to learn and operate in government cloud/government environment
