Job Summary
Own quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems while ensuring support throughout delivery. Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, and risk trade-offs. Proactively identify project, process, technology, or business issues to advocate for and lead solutions. Support operations and availability by creating metrics, monitoring systems, and managing on-call efforts. Foster quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards, advocating for them through writing and tech talks. Develop talent by providing feedback and guidance, modeling the builder's mindset required to ship new code to millions across international markets.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a software engineer
- experience in designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale technologies like Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
- experience efficiently using AI to assist in delivering high quality products on a daily basis
- experience defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple and extensible design
- proficiency at making significant changes in a large code base
- developed a suite of tools and practices that enable safe changes in a large code base
- experience demonstrating that you take ownership of your growth
- proactively seeking feedback from the team, manager, and stakeholders
- strong verbal and written communication skills that support effective collaboration with a global engineering team
- experience leading engineers on a team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems
- experience supporting the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics and supporting on-call efforts
- experience setting or improving code review and design standards for a team
- experience helping develop talent on a team by providing feedback and guidance
