Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) responsible for delivering production-ready backend Java REST APIs and frontend SPAs (React/TypeScript or similar) across a government-focused programme. Role involves hands-on development, testing, documentation, and deployment, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines while adhering to Agile practices. Requires 10+ years of software engineering experience, strong Java and modern SPA expertise, ability to work in a hybrid setup with some home working, and willingness to obtain UK security clearances. Farnborough, UK with flexibility for remote work dependent on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven hands-on delivery using Java (Java 8 and modern versions such as 17 and 21)
- REST API design and implementation
- Modern SPA development experience using React and TypeScript, Angular, or Vue
- Strong understanding of design patterns and software development practices
- Experience delivering changes in production environments
- Experience with unit and integration testing
- Familiarity with Agile software development and CI/CD
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo) or equivalent tooling
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and security scanning processes
- Willingness to obtain UK Security Clearances (minimum 5 years residency)
- Clear communication with peers and stakeholders
- Minimum 5 years residency in the UK for security clearance
