Job Summary
Lead the architectural evolution and frontend execution for core Search features across a React, TypeScript, and Node web stack. Partner with product, design, and backend peers to translate user research into performant experiences, while building complex map-based data visualizations for high-density location data. Champion engineering standards through thorough code reviews and mentor peers, monitoring client-side performance and state management for high-traffic applications. This role focuses on frontend architecture and web user experiences, requiring mastery of modern frontend technologies and fullstack context with Node.js. We prioritize candidates in Atlanta and Boston for in-person collaboration within our team of 1,700.
Required Qualifications
- Mastery of modern frontend web technologies, application design patterns, and user interface development using React and TypeScript
- Experience building map-based data visualizations using mapping libraries such as Mapbox or the Google Maps API
- Fullstack working context with Node.js web services and modern API design concepts like REST, GraphQL, or gRPC
- Practical understanding of backend microservice interaction patterns and relational databases like PostgreSQL
- Resourceful problem-solving skills in ambiguous technical environments with a track record of continuous learning
- Some problems get solved faster in the same room, so we prioritize candidates in Atlanta and Boston
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with AWS managed services or frontend performance optimization for high-traffic applications is a plus
