Job Summary
Senior Embedded Software Engineer to architect robust backend systems and firmware for robotics. Responsibilities include designing backend architectures for robot control and state management, building and maintaining test infrastructure for safety and reliability, developing firmware for hardware integration (cameras, grippers, sensors), driving architectural decisions, creating reliable APIs/services for robot operations, implementing monitoring/logging/debugging, and mentoring engineers on backend architecture and system design. Tech stack includes STM32, C/C++, RTOS, Linux, NodeJS/TypeScript, Docker, and CI/CD. Emphasis on simplicity, reliability, velocity, and cross-functional collaboration. Hybrid work arrangement with 3 days onsite at Glen Cove, NY; remote option also available.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in complex environments
- Strong technical background in embedded systems with hands-on software engineering experience
- Experience with STM32, C/C++, RTOS
- Proficiency with Linux and host-side services (NodeJS/TypeScript)
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to mentor engineers and drive architecture decisions
- Excellent communication skills and collaboration in a diverse team
