Job Summary
Build and operate data pipelines supporting real-time and batch use cases on AWS, partnering with product and engineering stakeholders to translate ambiguous requirements into reliable systems. Lead technical direction for pipeline design, testing, and monitoring while mentoring other engineers on data engineering skills. Own technical decisions with minimal oversight within a cross-functional Scrum team, leveraging Python, Java, or Scala and tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery. Based in the Boston area with schedule flexibility.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with the majority focused on data engineering
- 3+ years building data solutions on AWS, including real-time streaming and event-driven systems
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery
- Solid grasp of data modeling fundamentals, including dimensional modeling and warehouse design
- Comfort working in Agile/Scrum teams and owning technical decisions with minimal oversight
- Based in the Boston area with schedule flexibility
