Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure at Roblox. You will design, build, and scale distributed data infrastructure platforms powering analytics, ML, and product decisions; own core data platform components; collaborate with infra, data science, and product teams to align capabilities with governance and requirements; optimize performance under heavy load; lead the design, testing, and operational lifecycle of infrastructure features running on Kubernetes across cloud environments; and embed AI/ML capabilities within data platforms to enable autonomous, self-serve interactions.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building, designing, testing and maintaining production-grade, large-scale distributed systems
- B.S. equivalent in CS or sufficient experience
- Deep technical experience with at least 1 or 2 foundational technologies from Kafka, Flink, Spark, Trino, Druid, Airflow, or Data Catalog/Metadata systems
- Robust proficiency in Java, Go, or Scala with a track record of writing clean, high-performance backend code
- Cloud fluency; experience operating data infrastructure at scale on Kubernetes in AWS or GCP
- Technical leadership; ability to influence technical direction, mentor engineers, and drive cross-team alignment
