Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer on Speechify's Core Experiences Team responsible for building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs powering the product across platforms. Collaborate with Product Teams to scope projects, reduce scope for faster customer feedback, and deliver solutions via cross-platform SDKs. Optimize functionality for faster loading and smarter parsing by refining abstractions and algorithms. Ship cloud functions and backend jobs using Kotlin, contributing to scalable, reliable APIs and services that enhance the user experience. The ideal candidate values systems thinking, speed, focus, and collaboration with opinionated designers, marketers, and PMs; prior Kotlin Multiplatform experience and GCP familiarity are a plus. The role supports a fast-growing, asynchronous culture and aims to impact millions of users, including those with learning differences.
Required Qualifications
- Kotlin Multiplatform experience
- Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a plus
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with designers, marketers, and PMs
- Ability to design clear, reliable APIs and simple systems
- Experience shipping cloud functions and lightweight backend services
