Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer for Signifyd's Cloud Platform Engineering group. You will drive design, implementation, and management of enterprise cloud infrastructure, provide technical leadership to a team of engineers, automate and maintain a large computing environment, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable platform operations. Responsibilities include architecting AI-driven infrastructure, scaling cloud capabilities on GCP and Kubernetes, defining SLOs and incident management, embedding security into platform design, optimizing footprint and FinOps, elevating the developer experience with CI/CD tooling, and mentoring junior engineers. Required expertise spans GCP (AWS a plus), Kubernetes at scale, data-storage technologies, modern languages (Python, Go, Java, TypeScript), IaC (Terraform), GitOps (ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, TeamCity), observability (OpenTelemetry), and AI-assisted development tools, with a strong focus on security, reliability, and developer productivity.
Required Qualifications
- Cloud & Infrastructure Mastery: Cloud Platform (GCP required; AWS a strong plus)
- Kubernetes: extensive expertise operating self-managed and cloud-managed Kubernetes at scale
- Data Systems: experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka
- Software Engineering & DevEx: strong skills in Python, Go, Java, TypeScript; IaC with Terraform; declarative CI/CD with ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, TeamCity
- Observability & AI-Fluency: experience with OpenTelemetry-based monitoring; AI tooling like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude; ability to audit AI-generated code for security
- Telemetry: scalable monitoring and tracing frameworks to reduce MTTR
- Security: platform security, access controls, encryption, vulnerability management
- DevOps/CI-CD: build tooling, self-service infrastructure, CFR reduction
- Leadership/Mentorship: mentoring junior engineers; champion customer-focused engineering practices
