Job Summary
Senior Software Engineer role leading work across systems-level infrastructure, real-time AI state management, custom OS development, and UX grounded in psychology and organisational behaviour. Responsibilities include designing and building custom database and memory systems, implementing real-time LLM token state management at large scale, developing custom Unix OS distributions, evolving UX paradigms with organisational-behaviour insights, pursuing micro-optimisations across the full stack, and a daily on-site presence in San Francisco. Required: deep obsession with novel, unsolved problems; ability to build large, complex systems quickly; proficiency in TypeScript, Rust, or Python; experience with graph databases, data pipelines, or ontological modelling; comfort applying psychology/organisational insights to product/UX; top academic background or standout real-world experience. Visa sponsorship available. Location is on-site in San Francisco, CA; remote work is not available.
Required Qualifications
- Required: Deep obsession with novel, overlooked, or technically unsolved problems.
- Required: Demonstrated ability to build large, complex, and maintainable systems in roughly one-third the time most engineers consider possible.
- Required: Proficiency in one or more of: TypeScript, Rust, Python.
- Required: Experience with graph databases, flexible data pipelines, or ontological modelling.
- Comfort applying psychology and organisational behaviour insights to product and UX decisions.
- Signal of outlier intelligence — top academic background or standout real-world experience (non-traditional backgrounds welcome).
